Trouble uploading to CONTENTdm

Hello all,
I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. I am having trouble uploading to CONTENTdm, I only have access to collection #5 and LIS 2670. Tyler do you need to grant me access to the collection #3 or can I upload to collection 5? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Catherine

More Dublin Core information

Just a reminder that one of our textbooks for this class, Chan's Cataloging and Classification, has a chapter devoted to Dublin Core and other metadata schemas, including VRA. See Chapter 4.

An Introduction to Metadata

This site briefly outlines various metadata systems, ending with a list of the DC elements.

Crosswalks

These crosswalks are a way to translate from one metadata standard to another.

Here's a MARC to Dublin Core crosswalk, and, not quite as helpful or clear, a Dublin Core to MARC crosswalk.

VRA Metadata Standards

Here are some basics from the Visual Resources Association on the latest version of their standards for description on visual and cultural resources:

Introduction to VRA Core 4.0

VRA Element Outline

VRA Element Definitions and Examples -- This is a long document but has very helpful examples of how to apply the elements to different works.

Dublin Core Qualifiers

DCMI guide to the DC qualifiers.

Dublin Core glossary

A glossary of Dublin Core metadata terms, covering elements and other DC lingo as well as various encoding schemes.

Dublin Core Elements

Here's the user guide from the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative on the DC Elements.

First entry

Today we had our first e-meeting. We had all been experimenting with ContentDM on our own for a couple of weeks and formulating ideas on how best to approach the project. We discussed the following:

1. Target date?
2. Theme?
3. Copyright issues?
4. Authorities: LCSH, AAT, LC Names
5. Chats Tuesdays @ 8:30pm ET
6. Separate tasks for everyone?
7. Ms. Orteza & Ms. Duplessis looking into metadata.
8. Mr. Nicolson: Fiddle and make notes; set up group blog.
9. Mr. Martin: Looking at administration end of ContentDM.
10. Ms. Toriola: Looking at user end of ContentDM.

Mr. Nicolson also agreed to set up a blog that the group could use to help the rest of the class understand what the group had gone through to bring ContentDM to them. The meeting was adjourned.
